Responsibilities

The Speech Therapist in Home Health assesses and evaluates patient needs related to speech and language disorders, communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments.

• Provide services within the scope of practice as defined by state laws, in accordance with the care plan, and collaborate with the healthcare team.
• Evaluate patient function levels using diagnostic and prognostic tests and assist physicians in developing the therapy plan of care.
• Treat patients to improve communication, using acceptable standards of practice.
• Instruct patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare team members in speech therapy areas.

Education and Experience

License Requirements:

• Must be currently licensed in Speech Therapy in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to a dependable vehicle or reliable transportation.
