Job summary

Medical City Decatur is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) PRN to join our rehabilitation team. You will help patients improve communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities with evidence-based care in a well-supported environment.

You will evaluate, plan, and document patient progress, educate families, and collaborate with physicians and care teams to ensure smooth transitions and high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of start date.
• Licensed/Certified as Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Responsibilities

• Evaluating communication, cognitive, and swallowing abilities using structured assessments and observations.
• Developing and adjusting individualized treatment plans for communication and safe swallowing.
• Documenting evaluations, daily notes, progress updates, and discharge summaries accurately.
• Educating patients and families on therapy goals, safety recommendations, home strategies, and progress expectations.
• Collaborating with physicians, nursing, rehabilitation staff, and care managers for coordinated care.
