Job summary

Beach Breeze Rehab & Care in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a compassionate Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to evaluate residents and develop individualized speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing plans, delivering therapy to improve communication and swallowing abilities.

You will work within an interdisciplinary team, document care plans, train staff, and participate in care planning meetings, with ASHA credentials preferred and FL licensure required.

Qualifications

• Current Florida Speech Language Pathologist license or eligibility for Florida licensure.
• ASHA certification preferred; CCC or CCC eligibility.
• Strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and develop individualized speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing treatment plans.
• Provide therapeutic interventions based on each resident’s needs, abilities, and goals.
• Monitor resident progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Recommend adaptive communication devices and provide training as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing, rehabilitation, medical, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care.
• Participate in care plan meetings and contribute to individualized resident care planning.
• Provide guidance and supervision to supportive therapy staff, as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, caregivers, and members of the healthcare team.
