Job summary

HCA Healthcare is hiring a Seasonal PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse for a temporary program from October 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026. The role offers a $50 seasonal rate with a minimum 24 hours per week and shifts across the ambulatory surgery center network in the Kansas City market.

The nurse will provide postoperative care, ensure airway management, monitor vitals, manage IVs, and support discharge criteria while upholding the company’s patient‑centered care values.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or higher is required.
• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably Preop/PACU/ER/ICU or Surgery.
• Active RN license as required by state of employment.
• BCLS Certification upon employment; online certification not acceptable.
• ACLS required within 30 days of hire.
• PALS if required by facility within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients’ care area with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients according to policy (vital signs, temp, cardiac).
• Insert, maintain, and remove IV catheters and saline locks.
• Perform and document head-to-toe evaluation using approved scoring system.
• Check dressings and report abnormalities to surgeon.
• Provide a safe and comforting environment for patients and families.
• Ensure patients meet discharge criteria.

Introduction

$50 seasonal rate

SHIFT: PRN - Minimum 24 hours per week (3 shifts)

SCHEDULE: Temporary - Program runs from October 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026

Seasonal requirements:

• Current HCA/SVG employees are not eligible to transfer into the seasonal program

• All Seasonal Staff are required to work a minimum of 24 hours per week / 48 hours per pay period during the seasonal period to qualify

• Seasonal Staff may be asked to float to another center within the same division/market if emergent staffing needs exist

• Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off

• Schedules/shifts may vary based on center needs

We are hiring a Temporary Preop/PACU Registered Nurse for a seasonal commitment to help meet staffing demands during our high-volume season. Our seasonal Preop PACU RNs earn high pay rates and have priority over future FT/PT/PRN positions after the seasonal program ends.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a PreOp/PACU Nurse for our ambulatory surgery center who demonstrates the values of our company by caring like family. You will ensure safe and effective nursing care rendered postoperatively until the patient is dismissed from the facility. With your expertise, our center will continue its’ legacy of employing nurses who contribute to the company’s mission and vision.

What you will do in this role:

• Prepare your patients’ care area adequately and ensure necessary equipment and supplies and provided

• You will demonstrate proper airway management techniques

• Monitor your patients according to policy (vital signs, temperature, cardiac, etc.).

• You will exhibit proper technique for insertion, maintenance, and removal of IV catheters and saline locks

• Perform and document head to toe evaluation of your patients utilizing an approved scoring system in line with HCA policy and procedure

• Check dressings and/or operative site of your patients and report abnormalities to the surgeon

• Provide a safe and comforting environment for your patients and family

• Ensure your patients meet discharge criteria

Qualifications you will need:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma or Higher degree in Nursing Required

• 1+ years of nursing experience in a clinical setting, preferably in Preop, PACU, ER, ICU or Surgery

• Active RN license as required by state of employment

• BCLS Certification upon employment. ***online certification not acceptable

• ACLS required within 30-days of hire

• PALS if required by facility within 30-days of hire
