Zusammenfassung

Overland Park Regional Medical Center is seeking a PRN Seasonal Patient Care Technician to support our nursing team in ER, ICU, CVICU, Cardiac, Med Surg, Ortho & Spine, PCU and Neuro Trauma units.

Position runs 11/9/26–2/27/27; 72 hours per pay period (0.9 FTE) with two weekend shifts per 4-week period and one holiday shift during the 16-week period. Seasonal staff are PRN and not guaranteed hours, with eligibility for 401(k) and retirement contributions only.

Qualifikationen

  • Kansas CNA license required.
  • BCLS certification required upon hire.

Seasonal Position Requirements and Incentives:

  • Seasonal position for 11/9/26 -2/27/27

  • Available Units: Emergency Room (ER), ICU, CVICU, Cardiac Specialty, Med Surg, Ortho & Spine Specialty, Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Neuro Trauma [must have minimum one (1) year hospital experience to qualify for Seasonal PRN PCT openings]

  • Openings available at HCA Hospitals: Research Medical , Centerpoint Medical, Belton Regional, Lee's Summit, Medical, Menorah Medical, Overland Park Regional

  • All Seasonal PRNs are required to work a minimum of 72 hours per pay period (0.9 FTEs) during the seasonal period.

  • Two (2) weekend shifts are required for each 4-week period if applicable.

  • During the 16-week period, the employee is required to work one holiday shift as defined by Department Manager or designee.

  • Seasonal Staff are PRN status employees and are subject to first call-off. There is no guarantee of hours by the hospital. However, if employees are called off by the facility, then they will still be eligible for the completion bonus.

  • Seasonal Staff will not be eligible for benefits, except 401 (k) and retirement contribution per the PRN policy.

  • Staff members classified in the Seasonal Program are eligible for Critical Staffing Need Differential payments, when approved for their department and after they have completed three scheduled shifts in a week (i.e. 4th shift is paid Critical Staffing Differential)

  • Shifts may vary based on needs of the department.

  • After the completion period has been met, employees are eligible to apply to open FT/PT/PRN vacancies.

  • Current PRN employees with 0.001 or .3 FTE commitment can be considered for this program. Based on business needs, the seasonal program can be ended at any time.

  • This program cannot be combined with Seasonal Incentive Program.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be a vital part of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands‑on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. You'll assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans. Your attention, empathy, and teamwork help restore comfort and dignity for every patient you serve and make our mission to improve lives a reality each day.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery

  • Providing non-medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices

  • Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency

  • Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness

  • Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality

What qualifications you will need:
  • A minimum of a High school diploma or GED required.

  • 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting, required.

  • Kansas Certified Nursing Assistant License required.

  • BCLS certification required upon hire.
