Job summary

West Valley Medical Center in Caldwell, Idaho, is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Same Day Surgery PRN role. The RN will evaluate patients preoperatively, educate families, and ensure safe perioperative care in a collaborative operating room environment.

Responsibilities include IV therapy, preoperative meds, site verification, and adherence to universal protocols, with on-call during select hours. Prior SDS or critical care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current Idaho RN license or Compact license required.
• Associate's degree required.
• BLS or BCLS certification required; ACLS within 90 days of start date.
• SDS or critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Educate patients and families about the perioperative process.
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Perform surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with evidence-based practices.
