Job summary

Cache Valley Hospital seeks an RN for Same Day Surgery PRN to provide high-quality perioperative patient care. You will evaluate patients prior to surgery, educate families, prepare patients for procedures, and participate in signaling safety protocols within the OR, collaborating with surgeons and surgical staff.

The role requires an Associate Degree nursing, current RN licensure, and ACLS/BLS/PALS certifications within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• RN required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or equivalent.
• One or more year of experience in Surgical Services.
• ACLS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients for surgery including IV therapy, preoperative meds, and site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Be part of an interdisciplinary team with providers and staff.
• Apply nursing process with clinical judgment and leadership.
• Monitor patient condition and document changes.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment, and follow-up.
