Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing from an accredited school.
• BSN preferred.
• One year of nursing experience preferred.
• Current Idaho RN license; compact license preferred and will be required.
• CPR, BLS, ACLS required; must be obtained within two months.
• NRP and STABLE required within six months.
• TNCC required within one year.
• Extensive walking and standing; ability to lift and transfer patients.

Responsibilities

• Maintains department policies, objectives and safety standards.
• Oversees patient care delivery and delegates assignments.
• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates patient care outcomes.
• Makes independent decisions in emergencies in absence of physicians.
• Precepts and orients new team members.
• Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcomes.
• Leads positive relations with staff, patients and visitors.
• Communicates with nursing students and instructors.
• Follows Idaho Nurse Practice Act and ANA ethics.
• Maintains safe, clean, therapeutic environment for patients.
• Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment.
• Communicates with nursing manager about needs and transfers.
• Communicates with physicians and rounds with MDs.
• Ensures continuity of care with verbal and written reports.
• Maintains patient records confidentiality and HIPAA.
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities.
• Coordinates critical care with tertiary hospitals.
• Assists other team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Pursues professional growth through education and meetings.
