Job summary

Avera St Benedict Nursing Home in Sioux Center, IA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for a PRN role with rotating days, evenings, nights, and weekends. A pay range of $32.50–$48.50 per hour applies, with a $3 shift differential for hours from 7p–7a, and $2 on weekends, $5 on weekend nights.

The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and participate in care planning and patient education.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the hours specified.
• Active RN license in the state of practice.
• Preferred 1–3 years clinical or long-term care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides resident care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the health care team.
• Develops nursing care plans by reviewing medical histories, examining residents, documenting status, and coordinating with family.
• Teaches residents and families about condition, medications, and self-care skills.
• Evaluates resident care by following therapeutic standards, measuring outcomes, reviewing records, and adjusting plans as needed.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy resident care environment by following infection-control, medication handling, and safety procedures.
• Keeps resident care equipment operating by following procedures, performing maintenance, stocking supplies, and arranging repairs.
• Coordinates admissions, discharges and transfers to and from the facility.
• Directs, plans and coordinates workflow of nursing assistants and other nursing personnel.
• Maintains competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership.
