Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. The PRN RN - ED has the responsibility, authority, and accountability for coordinating and directing patient care for a specific group of patients within the Department of Emergency Medicine. This role involves providing professional critical care nursing, including assessments, medication administration, monitoring life support, performing treatments, and emergency resuscitation. The qualified candidate cares for patients of all ages.

Essential Functions:

• Perform triage duties, identify emergent patients, facilitate patient flow, and conduct hourly waiting room checks.
• Provide primary nursing care, working within a team, throughout the patient's stay.
• Identify arrhythmias, intervene per procedures, anticipate complications, and communicate with physicians promptly.
• Start IVs, administer medications and fluids, assess responses, and titrate dosages as ordered.
• Perform CPR, serve as code nurse, and manage critically ill patients during transfers.
• Test monitoring equipment, ensure proper function, and operate ED equipment knowledgeably.
• Follow safety and infection control protocols, participate in procedures, and provide emotional support.
• Assess and document patient conditions and interventions accurately.
• Notify families, participate in shift reports, and uphold emergency nursing standards.
• Support organizational goals, comply with policies, and participate in quality improvement.
• Mentor new team members and maintain professional development.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an RN program; BSN preferred.
• Current Pennsylvania RN license or multistate license.
