Job Details

The PRN Pharmacist interprets physicians' prescriptions and dispenses medications within regulatory guidelines. Supervises the clinical activities of pharmacy technicians. Consults and counsels patients regarding medication use and potential drug interactions; handles complex problem resolution. This position is compliance critical, with specific responsibilities for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate, and regulatory requirements.

Location

Rotating coverage for two locations:

  • Lorain County Health & Dentistry, 1205 Broadway, Lorain, OH 44052
  • Erie County Health Department, 20 Superior Street, Sandusky, Ohio 44870
Hours

Coverage for call outs and scheduled PTO, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, closed weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, prepare, and dispense medications; verify prescriptions according to standards and legal requirements.
  • Perform medication reconciliation to ensure seamless care upon discharge.
  • Provide excellent customer service and clinical care.
  • Consult with patients on medications, dosages, and interactions.
  • Review patient's care plan for therapeutic appropriateness.
  • Contribute to business goals, marketing, and operational efficiency.
  • Manage pharmacy staff, including hiring, training, and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, quality standards, and record-keeping.
  • Handle prescription claims and financial reconciliation.
  • Supervise pharmacy activities and ensure optimal patient care.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and training.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education

Bachelor of Science or Pharm D degree from an accredited institution, current unrestricted pharmacist license, with 1-3 years of retail/ambulatory pharmacy experience preferred.
