Job description

**Job Description:**

This position demonstrates consistent application of knowledge and skills to deliver appropriate, safe, efficient, and cost-effective pharmaceutical care within the scope of their assigned practice. The role involves patient care and developing effective, professional relationships within a multidisciplinary team.

**Work Schedule:** This position operates during normal clinical hours, Monday - Friday, and is fully remote. Applicants must be licensed in CO or MT to qualify.

Essential Functions
  1. Review patients' medication orders for allergy interactions, duplication of therapy, appropriateness, and drug-drug interactions. Make evidence-based interventions to optimize medication use, ensuring therapies are safe, appropriate, and cost-effective. Dispense medications accurately.
  2. Oversee and/or participate in ensuring medications are prepared and delivered timely, stored securely, and are stable and suitable for workflow.
  3. Provide counseling to patients, promote medication education and adherence, and ensure respectful, professional service.
  4. Complete all regulatory and compliance training, maintain clear documentation, and stay knowledgeable about state and federal laws, pharmacy policies, and SOPs.
  5. Supervise and direct activities of interns, technicians, and support staff. Provide clinical consultation and clarification to healthcare professionals.
  6. Proactively solve problems related to equipment, maintenance, drug availability, staffing, and patient care concerns.
  7. Identify areas for process improvement to enhance patient satisfaction and safety, and participate in departmental meetings with feedback and ideas.
  8. Support clinic, hospital, and system directives, including clinical, compliance, operational, and customer service goals.
  9. Assist in local and enterprise pharmacy leadership initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (education verified).
  • Licensed to practice pharmacy in the state and dispense controlled substances.
  • Current knowledge of relevant regulations and statutes.
  • Effective communication, management, and project skills.
  • Immunization certification if applicable.

Preferred:

  • Experience in an integrated healthcare system.
  • Board Certification.
  • Health System Residency.
Physical Requirements:
  • Visual acuity for reading and assessing information.
  • Verbal communication skills for interacting with providers, colleagues, and patients.
  • Manual dexterity for manipulating supplies and equipment, including frequent computer use.
Location:

Supply Chain Center, Midvale, Utah

Work Hours:

0 hours weekly, with hourly rate ranging from $59.86 to $87.98 depending on experience.
