Job summary

Community Health Systems, Inc. seeks a Respiratory Therapist - RRT to administer respiratory care per physician orders, perform assessments, monitor responses, and implement treatment plans to promote safety and recovery. Documentation and patient safety are emphasized across all procedures.

You will conduct ABG punctures, assist with bedside procedures, and manage ventilator settings while collaborating with care teams to optimize outcomes and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of respiratory experience in acute care preferred.
• RRT certification required and ACLS/PALS as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Administers advanced respiratory treatments and monitors patient responses.
• Orients patient to treatment modality to ensure cooperation.
• Performs ABG punctures and reports results promptly.
• Assists physicians with bedside procedures as assigned.
• Performs pulmonary testing procedures as assigned.
• Adheres to safety guidelines and regulatory standards during procedures.
• Communicates with healthcare staff, physicians, and leadership for timely care.
• Maintains respiratory equipment cleanliness and proper function.
• Implements physician orders accurately and documents thoroughly.
• Uses PPE and patient identification techniques to ensure safety.
• Manages ventilator settings and airway maintenance for patient comfort.
• Demonstrates judgment in emergencies and stabilizes patients with team support.
• Applies age-specific care considerations for oxygen therapy.
