Job summary

Select Specialty Hospital Birmingham, located in Birmingham, AL on Brookwood Baptist Medical Center, seeks a Respiratory Therapist for PRN Day shift (6:30 am–7:00 pm) with compensation of $35.00/hour. The RT will evaluate patients, provide critical respiratory care, and assist with endotracheal tube management in a post-ICU setting.

Required credentials include Active NBRC CRT/RRT, BLS, and state licensure; ACLS is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• Must possess Active CRT or RRT NBRC credential or state equivalent.
• Proof of graduation required: college transcript/diploma preferred or high school transcript/diploma or GED.
• BLS certification by start date is required.
• Current state licensure is required.
• ACLS is required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plan.
• Provide respiratory care to patients with critical and complex conditions.
• Perform insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
