Job summary

Banner Rehabilitation Hospital West in Peoria, AZ is seeking a Respiratory Therapist for a PRN 12-hour shift (7:00am - 7:30pm). offres compensation of $35.00 per hour and requires 2+ years RT experience with AZ licensure.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• Current state licensure required (Arizona).
• ACLS required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates patient and recommends a treatment plan.
• Explains purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients, and provides education upon discharge to home.
• Performs physician-prescribed respiratory care treatments using ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive) and various oxygen/nebulation devices.
• Conducts chest physiotherapy and airway clearance techniques including suctioning and monitoring.
• Reviews chest X-rays to determine need for further evaluation.
• Performs 12-lead ECG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Performs pulmonary function studies (NIF, VC, etc.).
• Assists with procedures related to respiratory care (Bronchoscopy, Perc Trachs, Chest Tube placement, etc.).
• Performs tracheostomy care (insertion/removal) as applicable.
• Performs arterial puncture and monitors ventilation effectiveness; records test results.
• Performs CPR following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
