Job summary

107 The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Hospital Authority is seeking a part-time Respiratory Therapy Assistant (PRN) to perform respiratory duties including treatments, oxygen administration, suctioning, and ABG sample handling under supervision. Candidate must be NCRCB-registered as RCA and hold BLS certification.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED with enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Care program and completion of at least one year of that program.

Qualifications

• Registered with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) as an RCA required.
• Basic Life Support for healthcare providers thru the American Heart Association required.
• Advanced certification per facility/department requested.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory duties as outlined by the NCRCB Declaratory Ruling for Respiratory Care Assistants (RCA).
• Performs respiratory care treatments and oxygen administration.
• Suction patients and obtain/run ABG samples.
• Follows departmental safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements.
