Job summary

Broadlawns Medical Center is seeking a Medication Aide to support residential clients within our programs. You will assist in IPP/RTP implementation, ensure accurate medication administration, and promote learning in self-care and social skills.

The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and collaborative care with mental health professionals. The position requires a state-approved Medication Aide course and experience with clinical psychiatric care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Verification of completion of a state-approved Medication Aide course.
• One year of clinical experience with psychiatric disorders.
• Ability to teach and role model skills for independent living.
• Licensed driver and insurance where required.
• English reading/writing proficiency.
• Completion of First Aid/CPR and BMC behavior management training.

Responsibilities

• Ensure medications are administered as directed and documented.
• Review IPP and RTP plans and ensure training is completed.
• Support client self-care, social and community interaction skills.
• Develop schedules for group activities and residential chores.
• Provide a therapeutic atmosphere and model appropriate behavior.
• Respond to questions or complaints from residents.
• Assist in meal preparation and transportation needs.
• Coordinate referrals and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Document observations and program data timely.
• Maintain clean and safe residences throughout shifts.
