Job summary

Acenda Integrated Health in New Jersey seeks a Part-time Peer Recovery Specialist for the 24-7 Residential Assistant role. You will work directly with mothers and children, providing recovery support, crisis prevention, and linkage to community resources.

Responsibilities include documenting in the EHR, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, offering relapse prevention skills, and following up post-discharge. The position offers bi-weekly supervision and shift coverage including evenings.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent plus at least 1 year in a recovery-oriented role.
• Knowledge of the 12 steps for AA.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license, insured vehicle, and acceptable driving record.
• Professionalism and a commitment to excellence in care.
• Bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with mothers and children and connect to community resources.
• Provide support recognizing cravings, urges, triggers; include relapse prevention planning.
• Follow up with mothers up to six months post discharge and document links to supports.
• Prevent and assist with crisis situations; help reduce relapse potential.
• Engage and coordinate with integrated team members for continuity of care; write daily shift reports.
• Record all documentation (UDS, med administration, sessions, interventions, contacts) in the EHR.
• Scan all written documentation into resident EHR and organize discharge papers.
