The RRT works with physicians and staff to optimize outcomes and maintain high standards of care. Ideal candidates hold TX RCP licensure and NBRC RRT certification, with BLS within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's degree or 2 years of work experience above minimum.
• Experience: Less than 1 year of experience.
• Certification/license: BLS within 30 days of hire; Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in TX; Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory care services including oxygen and aerosol therapies.
• Administers inhaled meds and airway clearance; conducts bedside spirometry as ordered.
• Follows physician orders and approved protocols; adjusts therapy as needed.
• Instructs patients on equipment use; monitors responses and improves technique.
• Documents treatments and charges; reports outcomes of interventions.
• Adheres to infection control, HIPAA, time/attendance and policies.
• Collaborates with other clinicians and students in care delivery.
• Keeps up with professional requirements and leadership expectations.
• Engages in continuous quality improvement in clinical care.
