Job summary

Baptist is seeking a registered nurse to deliver direct and indirect patient care in our care setting in Jackson, MS. You will communicate with physicians and leadership while applying nursing processes, critical thinking, and empathy to restore health and respect patient autonomy.

The role requires at least one year of nursing experience, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and RN licensure with BLS certification within 14 days of hire. ACLS/PALS may be preferred as applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN licensure required with BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients appropriately based on their medical condition.
• Administers medications as prescribed and maintains accurate records.
• Provides patient education and assists with basic self-care activities.
• Formulates teaching plans based on identified learning needs and includes family.
• Utilizes nursing knowledge to perform treatments and services.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care.
• Assists physicians with procedures requiring technical skills.
• Addresses psychosocial needs of patients and families, coordinating with social services.
• Demonstrates cost-conscious use of supplies and safety practices.
• Prioritizes patient care to ensure safety and timely service.
• A commitment to lifelong learning in nursing.
