Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Pearland is recruiting a Registered Nurse PRN. In this role you will evaluate patients pre- and post-operatively, educate families, and manage IV therapy and preoperative medications.

You will participate in surgical workflows and respond to emergencies as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team. RNs must obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support within 30 days of start.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required
• Excellent critical thinking and patient care skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery
• Provide patient and family education about procedures
• Prepare patients including IV therapy and preoperative meds
• Assist in surgical site verification and universal protocols
• Respond to patient emergencies and deliver high-quality nursing care
• Collaborate with providers, surgeons, and support staff
• Document patient condition changes and care provided
