Valley Hope Addiction Treatment & Recovery in Littleton, CO seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the 8am-4pm shift at New Directions for Families. The role involves administering prescribed treatments, monitoring detox patients, and coordinating care with the nursing and clinical team.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate’s degree in nursing with RN licensure in Colorado and CPR certification; Bachelor's degree and ACLS/CARN are preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensure required in state of employment.
• CPR certification required.
• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Strong preference for Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• Clinical nursing care experience preferred (1 year).
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute prescribed treatments and medication interventions for patients.
• Provide nursing care per Valley Hope policies and procedures.
• Conduct detox admissions and care during detoxification, including assessments and health history.
• Record treatment activities and patient observations accurately and timely.
• Communicate with nursing and clinical staff regarding patient treatment and status.
• Follow procedures for medical emergencies and infection control.
• Oversee non-licensed nursing staff under the Nursing Director.

New Directions for Families, located in Littleton, is a specialized Valley Hope treatment center dedicated to providing life-changing drug and alcohol addiction treatment for women with children (ages 0-12) and pregnant women. NDF provides a safe place for mothers to receive family-focused treatment for substance use disorder without having to be separated from their children.

Required

• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• One (1) year of clinical nursing care work experience.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Work experience in substance abuse treatment facility.
• Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN).

Compensation

• PRN Base Rate of $50.00/hr

Shift Differentials

• Weekend Day: $1.00

Job Summary

• Executes prescribed treatments and medication interventions as established for each patient.
• Implements nursing care in accordance with Valley Hope’s medical philosophies, policies, and procedures as well as any other regulating bodies to ensure quality patient care.
• Conducts detox admissions and provides patient care during patient detoxification process including pre-screening of patients, obtaining physical assessment data and health history, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring of patient.
• Records treatment activities and patient observations in patient records accurately and timely; completes paperwork requirements as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Communicates with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
• Follows established policies and procedures for all medical emergencies (i.e., convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens, etc.).
• Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.
• Oversees non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.

Work Environment

• Residential treatment facility setting; requires walking throughout the facility.
• Direct contact with patients.
• Able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours).
• Able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
• Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and able to assist an adult weighing 100-250 pounds.
