Valley Hope’s New Direction’s for families in Littleton, CO is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our addiction treatment team at the Littleton facility. This role requires an RN license, CPR certification, and an Associate’s degree in nursing, with preferred AACLS and CARN credentials.

The RN will provide patient-focused care, document treatment activities, and support the detox process within a residential treatment setting.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing required.
• RN license to practice in state of employment.
• CPR certification required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• ACLS preferred.
• Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Executes prescribed treatments and medication interventions.
• Implements nursing care per Valley Hope’s policies and procedures.
• Conducts detox admissions and monitors detoxification process.
• Records treatment activities and patient observations accurately and timely.
• Communicates with nursing supervisors and clinical staff about patient treatment/status.
• Follows policies for medical emergencies (convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens).
• Maintains infection control and safety within the facility.
• Oversees non-licensed nursing staff under the Nursing Director.

New Directions for Families, located in Littleton, is a specialized Valley Hope treatment center dedicated to providing life-changing drug and alcohol addiction treatment for women with children (ages 0-12) and pregnant women. NDF provides a safe place for mothers to receive family-focused treatment for substance use disorder without having to be separated from their children.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
• One (1) year of clinical nursing care work experience.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Work experience in substance abuse treatment facility.
• Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN).

COMPENSATION:

• PRN Base Rate of $50.00/hr

JOB SUMMARY:

• Executes prescribed treatments and medication interventions as established for each patient.
• Implements nursing care in accordance with Valley Hope’s medical philosophies, policies, and procedures as well as any other regulating bodies to ensure quality patient care.
• Conducts detox admissions and provides patient care during patient detoxification process including pre-screening of patients, obtaining physical assessment data and health history, administering detox treatment plans, and monitoring of patient.
• Records treatment activities and patient observations in patient records accurately and timely; completes paperwork requirements as needed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Communicates with nursing supervisors, nursing staff, and clinical staff regarding patients’ treatment and status.
• Follows established policies and procedures for all medical emergencies (i.e., convulsions, suicides, Delirium Tremens, etc.).
• Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying infection control techniques and universal precautions.
• Oversees non-licensed nursing staff as instructed by and under the direction of the facility Nursing Director.
  

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Residential treatment facility setting; requires walking throughout the facility.
• Direct contact with patients.
• Able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours).
• Able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
• Able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and able to assist an adult weighing 100-250 pounds.
