Job summary

40 National Emergency Management and Response seeks qualified registered nurses to support incident response and reservist assignments across communities in need. Ideal candidates hold an RN license, a nursing degree, and a valid compact license, with at least three years of RN experience.

Applicants should be willing to complete required ICS courses and respond on an as-needed basis to emergencies and incidents.

Qualifications

• Active RN license to practice in the state of residence.
• Minimum 3 years of registered nursing experience.
• Compact license preferred; eligible to practice in multiple states.
• Must complete ICS 100, 200, 700, 800; 300 and 400 upon hire (within 3 months).

Education

Associate degree in Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or related field, or graduate degree in nursing. Registered nurse licensed to work in state of residence. Cannot be barred from working in any state. Compact license preferred.

Experience

Required – A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a registered nurse.

Required ICs Courses

• ICS 100 – Introduction to Incident Command Systems


• ICS 200 – ICs for single resources and Initial Action Incidents


• ICS 700 – National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) and Introduction


• ICS 800 – National Response Framework, An Introduction


• ICS 300 – Intermediate ICs for Expanding Incidents (must be completed upon hire)


• ICS 400 – Advanced IC Command and General Staff – Complex Incidents (must be completed upon hire)


• May be waived upon hire, however required to be completed within 3 months of hire or will be terminated due to noncompliance.
