Job summary

We are looking to add an experienced PRN Registered Dietitian to our healthcare & food service team in Pittsburgh, PA. As a Registered Dietitian, you will identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and maintain nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.

This position is typically scheduled 8 - 16 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) or related field.
• Master’s degree in Nutrition or related field.
• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Identifying and assessing nutritional needs of patients/residents.
• Initiating interventions to achieve and/or maintain nutritional status.
• Enhancing quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies related to dining service and nutrition.
• Participating in development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.
