Job summary

Elior North America is seeking a PRN Registered Dietitian to support the healthcare & food service team at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. The role involves assessing nutritional needs, initiating interventions to optimize status, and enhancing life quality in line with patient goals.

The position is typically scheduled for 8–16 hours per week, onsite, requiring a bachelor’s and a master’s in nutrition, with licensure and CDR eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in nutrition
• Master’s degree in nutrition required
• Patience and empathy for patient education and care planning is essential.
• CDR examination passed or eligibility as per Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics
• Maintain required continuing education (75 hours every five years)
• Licensed or certified per state requirements
• Knowledge of regulation standards for comprehensive assessments and care planning
• Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess nutritional needs of patients/residents
• Initiate interventions to achieve and maintain nutritional status
• Educate patients, residents, staff, or consultants on nutrition
• Follow Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards and facility regulations
• Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement programs
