Job summary

Cura Hospitality, part of Elior North America, seeks an experienced PRN Registered Dietitian to join Meadowbrook, PA campuses. The role involves assessing nutritional needs, initiating interventions, and enhancing quality of life for patients/residents.

Schedule averages 8 hours per month with weekday availability and occasional weekend coverage for hospital rotation. Candidates should have LTC, Short-Stay Rehab, and Acute/Hospital experience, PCC & MDS Sheet familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) is required.
• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field preferred.
• Pass a national exam by CDR or eligible per Academy guidelines.
• Completes 75 hours of CE every five years per CDR.
• Licensed or certified as required by state.
• Knowledge of regulation standards for assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others about nutrition and dietetics.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the health care team and educate patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Follow Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to set up procedures and policies related to dining service and nutrition.
• Participate in development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced PRN Registered Dietitian to our Cura Hospitality team in Meadowbrook, PA . As a Registered Dietitian with Cura Hospitality, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals. This position will be scheduled an average of 8 hours per month, and will need to have weekday availability to cover vacations and doctor appointments. Also, weekends once per month to cover hospital rotation. We are looking for someone with LTC, Short-Stay Rehab, and Acute/Hospital experience. Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with past experience in Long-Term & Acute care with PCC & MDS Sheet experience. The PRN Registered Dietitian will be covering Holy Redeemer Hospital (which shares a campus with St. Joseph's Manor) and also covering the Lafayette campus.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.

• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.

• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.

• Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

What we’re looking for:

Must-haves:

• Bachelor's degree in nutrition (Prior to 2024) or related field

• Master's degree in Nutrition or related field.

• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.

• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.

• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.

• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.

• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves:

• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.

Compensation Range:

• $28.00 - $40.00 per hour, depending on experience.
