Job summary

Cura-Hospitality is seeking an experienced registered dietitian for our Healthcare team in Cortlandt Manor, NY. You will identify and assess nutritional needs, initiate interventions, and enhance quality of life aligned with patient goals.

Responsibilities include educating the care team, following standards of practice, and working with dining services to improve nutrition programs and quality measures.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered dietitian or eligible to sit for the CDR exam.
• Ongoing continuing education per CDR requirements.
• Knowledge of standards for assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to educate teams and patients on nutrition.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutritional expertise to the healthcare team and educate patients and staff.
• Adhere to Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics practice standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to set up procedures related to dining and nutrition.
• Participate in quality improvement programs and ongoing program reviews.

The Role at a glance:

We are looking to add an experienced registered dietitian to our Healthcare team in Cortlandt Manor. As a registered dietitian, you will have the opportunity to identify and assess the nutritional needs of assigned patients/residents, initiate interventions to achieve and/or maintain individuals nutritional status, and enhance quality of life consistent with patient’s/resident’s goals.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing nutritional expertise to the health care team and educating patients/residents, staff, or consultants.
• Following the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ standards of practice and facility regulatory requirements.
• Interacting with other departments in setting up procedures and policies, and in problem solving as it relates to dining service and nutrition.
• Actively participating in the development, review, and revision of continuous quality improvement programs.

What we're looking for:

Must-haves:

• Passed a national examination administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) or meets the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements for eligibility.
• Completes 75 hours of continuing education hours every five years, in accordance with the CDR, utilizing the professional portfolio development process.
• Licensed or certified, per state requirements.
• Knowledge of regulation standards specific to comprehensive assessments, care planning, and residents’ rights.
• Ability to teach others, specifically pertaining to nutrition and dietetics.

Nice-to-haves:

• Bachelor’s degree in nutrition or related field.
• Experience working in healthcare or long-term care.

Where you'll be working:

Compensation Range:

• $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on experience.
