Job summary

Qualifications

• ARRT (R) certification required.
• State license as radiologic technologist where practicing.
• BLS for healthcare providers required.
• May need to complete MA Competency Checklist and function as MA in clinic.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ARRT competency in clinical and technical functions.
• Verify patient identity, verify orders, and prepare patient for exam.
• Perform exams per protocol and review images for quality and accuracy.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe environment.
• Complete studies within time limits; assist students and other radiology staff.
• Provide patient education and ensure comfort; address concerns.
• Practice infection control and sterile techniques.
• Operate equipment and information systems to ensure quality images.
• Keep accurate records of patient information and procedures.
• Follow protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, consents, QC, and report equipment failures.
