Radiologic Technologist PRN
Job Summary
Work location: Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital, Stephenville, TX 76401.
Work environment: Radiology Diagnostic.
Work hours: PRN variable shifts, weekdays required.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology (or equivalent) upon hire.
- Associate degree preferred.
- One year of Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.
- Strong communication and computer skills.
- Experience with venipuncture.
Licenses & Certifications
- CMRT – Certified Medical Radiologic Technologist (TDH or TMB) – required upon hire.
- ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists – required.
- BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support – required prior to independent patient care and maintained quarterly.
Responsibilities
- Perform complex radiologic procedures, considering age-related criteria and developmental factors; explain procedures to patients or guardians.
- Process and manipulate images, analyze image quality, troubleshoot, and make technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed.
- Assess and recognize patients’ emotional, physical, developmental, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions.
- Establish age-appropriate patient care plans that coordinate multiple rehabilitation disciplines while adhering to regulatory requirements.
- Prepare the examination room (e.g., suction, oxygen, supplies).
- Check physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures.
- Handle patients with IVs, oxygen, chest tubes, or other devices and monitor them during imaging.
- Operate, care for, and maintain imaging equipment.
- Administer contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines.
