Overview

Texas Oncology is looking for a PRN Radiation Therapist to join our team! This position will support our Willowbrook Radiation Center in Houston, Texas.

This position is PRN - part-time, scheduled as needed.

Responsibilities

What does the Radiation Therapist do?

The Radiation Therapist, under direct supervision, administers radiation therapy treatments to patients. Accuracy in positioning the radiation beam and delivering the prescribed dose are essential. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Accurately delivers and records radiation therapy treatments under the supervision of a radiation oncologist and chief radiation therapist.
• Enters and maintains patient treatment parameters in the electronic medical record system. Participates in clinical instruction for new therapists and students.
• Assists in maintaining the patient appointment schedule and submitting correct billing information.
• Accurately cuts blocks when applicable.

• Creates custom molds accurately.
• Performs simple MU calculations accurately.
• Interprets computerized treatment plans effectively.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy technology program.
• ARRT certification and a valid state license for radiation therapy.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

The physical demands include sitting, using hands, occasional standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Vision and hearing should be corrected to normal ranges. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
