Job summary

The Lutheran Home is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN position on our clinical team in Missouri. The PTA will assist in implementing treatment plans created by licensed physical therapists for residents in our healthcare community.

Responsibilities include documenting progress, testing range-of-motion and strength, assisting with transfers, and supporting discharge planning. Missouri PTA licensure and SNF experience preferred; hours typically 8:00 am–4:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Active Missouri PTA license is required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment plans and carry out routine functions.
• Document progress of treatment and adjust treatments under the physical therapist's plan.
• Provide skilled assistance and instruction on therapeutic components to meet goals.
• Test or measure joint range-of-motion, muscle strength, vitals, or other objective measures.
• Transport patients to and from treatment areas and assist with transfers.
• Assist with discharge planning and safe transition planning when appropriate.
