Job summary

The Lutheran Home in Missouri is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN position. This role supports residents by implementing treatment plans developed by our physical therapists, with hours between 8:00 am and 4:30 pm.

Qualifications

• Must hold MO PTA license.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing treatment plans and carry out routine functions.
• Document the progress of treatment and modify specific treatments in accordance with the patient’s status and within the scope of the treatment plan established by the physical therapist.
• Provide skilled assistance and instruction on ordered therapeutic components designed to meet established goals.
• Appropriately test or measure joint range-of-motion, manual muscle strength, vital signs, or other objective tests to determine effects of treatments.
• Transport patients to and from treatment areas, lifting and transferring them according to positioning requirements.
• Assist with discharge planning and recommendations to facilitate safe transition plans for beneficiaries when appropriate.
