Job summary

Gulfport Behavioral Health System, a UHS facility on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, is seeking a PRN Program Therapist for the Social Services Department. The Therapist provides, coordinates, documents, and evaluates direct and indirect social services to military inpatients, including individual, group, and family therapies, case management, treatment planning, and discharge planning.

• Master's degree in Social Work or clinical mental health field is required.
• Two years of psychiatric healthcare experience with family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.
• Mississippi licensure: LCSW, LMSW or LPC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate social services for inpatients, including therapy and case management.
• Document and evaluate direct and indirect social services; participate in treatment planning.
• Attend unit and hospital meetings; assist with discharge planning and follow-up.

Gulfport Behavioral Health System is an acute behavioral health hospital on the Mississippi Gulf Coast providing inpatient, partial hospitalization and outpatient services to children, adolescents, and adults. We have served our community for over 30-years and our Patriot Support Program provides inpatient around-the-clock mental health treatment to help military members and their families, veterans, and first responders cope with stressful issues every day.

Position Summary

Come grow with us! Join our inpatient services team in the Social Services Department as a PRN Program Therapist. The Therapist provides, coordinates, documents, and evaluates direct and indirect social services to military inpatients. This includes individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, case management, treatment planning, rounding with clinical staff, attending/conducting unit and hospital meeting, discharge/care planning and follow-up.

Qualifications

Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a clinical related mental health field.

Experience: Prefer two (2) years’ experience and in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills. Military knowledge or background strongly preferred.

Licensure: LCSW, LMSW or LPC license to practice in the State of Mississippi preferred.
