Job summary

HealthMark Rehabilitation is seeking a PRN Physical Therapy Assistant/PTA to provide compassionate therapy services at Friendship Haven Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Friendswood, TX.

You will implement and adjust plan of care, document patient progress, and collaborate with a large interdisciplinary team to meet discharge goals. Prior geriatric rehab experience is preferred and applicants must meet licensure requirements.

Qualifications

• Must hold Texas license/certification for PTA.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; organizational and analytical skills required.
• Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and interact with all levels of staff and customers.
• Demonstrates time management and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize independent and effective clinical judgment, problem-solving and decision making skills.
• Meet physical requirements to deliver responsibilities.
• Experience in a geriatric rehabilitation setting preferred.
• Successful completion of hiring process / background check.

Responsibilities

• Provides therapy services in accordance with physician’s orders and accepted professional practices.
• Develops an overall therapy plan of care including treatment duration and frequency, and measurable goals that support discharge.
• Therapists of all disciplines perform skilled treatments according to the plan of care.
• Documents observations, patient responses to interventions, progress and changes within set timeframes.
• Completes required documentation timely and in accordance with state and federal regulations and policies/guidelines.
• Maintains rehab gym equipment and treatment area with infection prevention methods.
