Job summary

Courtland Rehabilitation And Healthcare Center in Courtland, VA, is seeking a PRN Physical Therapy Assistant to support the rehabilitation team under the supervision of a PT. The role emphasizes delivering comprehensive patient care, documenting progress, and coordinating with physicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate with BA or Associate degree in Physical Therapy recognized by the APTA.
• Holds current physical therapy license/registration in the state.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive treatment to patients under supervision of a PT according to state guidelines.
• Assist PT in identifying appropriate patients and referring them to rehab accordingly.
• Document patient participation and progress with progress notes and PT co-signature.
• Ensure MD orders are obtained for treatments, recertifications and discharges.
• Attend facility rehab meetings as indicated by Supervisor.
• Act as rehab delegate to the interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in scheduling of patients as indicated.
• Complete billing and bill patients for therapy services rendered.
• Cover other therapists’ caseload during absences as needed.
• Supervise junior PTA staff or students as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with staff, patients and families.
• Provide in-service education regarding patient care to rehab staff and facilities.

Education

Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Physical Therapy
