Job summary

Caprock Nursing and Rehabilitation is actively seeking a compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house rehab team on a PRN basis. You will support residents—they will benefit from care that improves mobility and quality of life under PT supervision.

Responsibilities include administering PT treatments, documenting progress, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Texas PTA licensure and good standing are required; SNF or long-term care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Active and valid Texas PTA license.
• In good standing with regulatory agencies and licensing boards.
• SNF or long-term care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of physical therapy treatment practices.
• Experience with Net Health EDS preferred.
• Ability to manage patients with varying personalities and needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve function.
• Provide skilled PT services under supervision of a Physical Therapist.
• Respond to requests for service by relaying information to the PT.
• Implement and modify patients' plans of care under PT supervision.
• Measure and record patients' motor function, strength, and muscle performance.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust approaches with the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide clinical support and education to patients and families.
• Ensure timely, compliant documentation per policies and regulations.
• Attend required Rehab Director-designated meetings.
