Qualifications

• Current, active Florida Physical Therapist license.
• Minimum 1 year experience in skilled nursing or long-term care preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and establish appropriate treatment goals and therapy plans.
• Implement physical therapy treatment programs and complete all required documentation accurately and timely.
• Apply therapeutic techniques including gait training, ambulation, strengthening, coordination, endurance, mobility, posture control, balance, and sensory awareness.
• Design, fit, and train residents in the use of adaptive devices, orthotics, and prosthetics.
• Select and administer appropriate physical modalities based on resident needs.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to ensure individualized and effective care plans.
• Educate residents and families on mobility techniques and progress toward goals.
• Modify therapy programs as residents’ conditions and needs evolve.
• Participate in care plan meetings and interdisciplinary team conferences.
• Supervise Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and aides in accordance with state regulations.
• Provide education and training to facility staff on physical therapy best practices.
• Monitor therapy equipment and request supplies or maintenance as needed.
• Promote a respectful, compassionate environment that supports residents’ dignity and rights.
