Job summary

North Carolina Specialty Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide evaluation, treatment, education and discharge planning in accordance with physician orders and professional standards.

You will conduct evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, administer therapeutic exercise and modalities, educate patients on home programs, and collaborate with physicians and the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
• Hospital, orthopedic or rehabilitation experience preferred.
• Current North Carolina Physical Therapist License; BLS required.
• Strong communication, clinical reasoning, documentation and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations including strength, range of motion, balance, coordination, posture and motor function.
• Develop individualized treatment plans.
• Administer therapeutic exercise, manual therapy and modalities.
• Modify treatment plans based on patient progress.
• Educate patients on home exercise programs and assistive devices.
• Document evaluations, treatments, progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team.
• Participate in quality improvement and safety activities.
