Job summary

Apex Home Health in Orange City, Florida, is seeking a per diem Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our passionate home health team. The PTA will provide treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education following the plan of care, while collaborating with the supervising Physical Therapist and care team.

The role requires licensure in physical therapy, weekend availability, and a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.

Responsibilities

• Following state laws governing home care PT services and treating only within the plan of care.
• Instructing patients in active and passive exercise, gait, and ADLs; assisting with mobility and prosthetic training.
• Observing and reporting patient responses to treatment to supervising PT and care team; coordinating with healthcare staff.
