Job summary

Estherville Community Care Center is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in a long-term care facility. The PTA helps residents improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence while promoting safety and quality of life.

You will work closely with residents, families, nursing staff, and the interdisciplinary care team to achieve rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
• Current PTA license in the state of employment is required.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation is preferred.
• Knowledge of PTA techniques and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment plans under the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance activities, and mobility interventions.
• Assist residents with improving strength, coordination, range of motion, and functional mobility.
• Monitor resident responses and report progress to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Document treatments and progress accurately and timely.
• Educate residents and families on exercises, mobility techniques, and safety measures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe therapy environment.
• Adhere to facility regulations and safety protocols.
