Responsibilities

• Performs venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect blood specimens as ordered.
• Properly labels, logs, and processes specimens according to laboratory protocols.
• Prepares collection trays and restocks work areas.
• Provides clear instructions to patients regarding collection procedures and tests.
• Documents specimen collection in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Assists with clerical tasks including filing and data entry.
• Adheres to infection control and safety protocols in all patient interactions.
• Responds to inquiries about laboratory services and participates in training and quality assurance.
