Prime Healthcare’s Saint John Hospital in Leavenworth, KS is seeking a detail-oriented Phlebotomy Technician to join our healthcare team. You will draw blood samples and ensure quality for laboratory testing to support accurate diagnostics and patient care.

Shifts are 8 hours, variable, and Employment Type is Per Diem. The role requires a High School Diploma, BLS within 45 days of hire, and ideally two years of clinical laboratory experience; a compassionate approach to patient interactions is

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current

Responsabilidades

• Prepare patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the process
• Responsible for correct blood collection; draw blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques; ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens
• Organize, handle, and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing; ensure all specimens are properly processed and stored
• Adhere to quality control and safety protocols to maintain the integrity of specimens and ensure accurate test results
• Maintain and calibrate phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensuring everything is in working order and properly sanitized
• Perform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as required, often with minimal supervision
