Cameron Memorial Community Hospital Inc in Angola, IN is seeking a part-time phlebotomist to obtain blood specimens by venipuncture and micro-collection. This PRN position supports DOT and non-DOT drug screens and breath alcohol testing.

The role includes clerical duties, labeling specimens accurately, and distributing results to physicians promptly. Required are a high school diploma or GED, ASCP/AMT certification or ability to obtain within one year, and BLS within one month of hire.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare field of at least one year preferred.
• ASCP/AMT phlebotomy certification at time of hire or ability to obtain within one year.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within one month of date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Observe all necessary safety guidelines.
• Identify patient before drawing blood and label specimens correctly.
• Prepare specimens as assigned.
• Maintain orderly flow of specimens to technical areas.
• Obtain samples by venipuncture, arterial or capillary punctures.
• Obtain DOT and Non-DOT samples as requested.
• Maintain accurate records, orders, reports, and worksheets.
• Distribute results to physicians and locations in a timely manner.
• Ensure order requisitions are entered completely and accurately.
• Assist in phlebotomy training of new employees.
