Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Phlebotomist to work in Flowood, MS on a casual/per‑diem schedule. The role involves performing blood collections and related clerical duties, with responsibilities spanning venipuncture, specimen handling, data entry, and billing support.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification, completed training program, or three months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
  • Preferred: one year or more of phlebotomy experience.
  • Phlebotomy certification or training must come from an accredited agency if work experience is not present.
  • Pass a standardized color blindness test.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alkohol tests, and other diagnostic purposes.
  • Enter patient information accurately into the system.
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
  • Travel to additional sites when required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.

  • Provide superior customer service to all patients.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed.
  • Travel to additional sites when required.
Required Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification, completed training program, or three months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year or more of phlebotomy experience.
Additional Job Standards
  • Phlebotomy certification or training program must come from an accredited agency if work experience is not present.
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
