Phlebotomist (Casual/Per Diem)

Location: Huntsville, AL

Job Overview

The Phlebotomist will perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups, collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other analyses. The role includes data entry, billing, specimen preparation, maintaining logs, providing customer service, and administrative duties. The position is fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and may require travel to additional sites.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other analyses.
• Enter patient information accurately and promptly.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.

• Provide superior customer service to all patients.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program, or at least 3 months of experience as a phlebotomist.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.

Additional Job Standards

• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.
