The role requires PTCB certification or active registration, a minimum of three years in healthcare, and a valid driver's license for occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Pharmacy technician with state certification or PTCB.
  • 3+ years healthcare/clinical setting preferred.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to educational and research meetings.
  • Valid State Driver's License for travel to clinics.
  • Knowledge of chemotherapy preparation and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and mix chemotherapy drugs under licensed supervision.
  • Maintain proficiency with the Nucleus system and ensure accurate dispensing.
  • Manage inventory, stock levels and par-levels; review orders.
  • Ensure compliance with federal/state laws, privacy, OSHA and policies.
  • Assist in training staff on chemotherapy prep and Nucleus workflows.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, supervisors and vendors as needed.
  • Support multi-location operations and overtime as required.

Job description

Location:Messino Cancer CentersHiring Range:$18.00 - $28.08Position Summary:Maintains the ordering and stocking of medications and supplies as needed in the clinic. Under supervision of appropriate licensed healthcare professional as defined by State regulations, prepares and mixes medications. Coordinates with drug sales representatives, and pharmaceutical companies to obtain samples, teaching aids, and compassionate drugs. Acts as liaison between Physicians, Nursing, Pharmacy Supervisor and Purchasing in obtaining special order medications.Key Performance Areas:1. Medication Preparation & DispensingPrepare and mix chemotherapy drugs and solutions under appropriate licensed supervision and in compliance with state regulations.Maintain proficiency with the Nucleus medication dispensing system and ensure accurate medication dispensing and par-level management.Review next-day orders with nursing staff to anticipate special medication needs.2. Inventory, Supply, and Equipment ManagementOrder, stock, and track medical supplies and medications, ensuring appropriate inventory levels and minimal waste.Perform daily and annual maintenance of chemotherapy hoods and manage ambulatory pump documentation.Handle biohazardous waste disposal safely and compliantly, including recordkeeping and coordination with Accounting.3. Regulatory Compliance & DocumentationMaintain required records for compassionate drug programs, clinical trials, biohazard waste, and related pharmacy processes.Ensure compliance with all federal/state laws, patient privacy regulations, OSHA standards, and organizational policies.4. Training & CollaborationAssist in training new pharmacy technicians and nursing staff on chemotherapy preparation and Nucleus system workflows.Collaborate with nurses, physicians, supervisors, and pharmaceutical representatives as needed to support patient care and operational needs.5. Operational Flexibility & Professional ResponsibilitiesSupport operations across multiple locations as needed and work overtime when required.Participate in mandatory meetings, including annual Safety/OSHA training.Position Qualifications:EducationFollowing applicable state regulations, PTCB Certification or Registered as Pharmacy Technician is required.Minimum Relevant ExperienceMinimum of three years’ experience in the healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.Must be willing to travel occasionally to educational and research meetings as well as training sessions.Certifications/LicensesValid State Drivers License for travel to clinics is required.#AONC
