American Oncology Network, Inc. is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to maintain chemotherapy preparation and dispensing under licensed supervision. The role manages inventories, coordinates with vendors, and ensures compliance with regulations across clinics.

You will train staff on the Nucleus system, collaborate with physicians and nursing staff, and participate in OSHA trainings. Travel to affiliated clinics is required periodically.

Qualifications

  • PTCB certification or registration as Pharmacy Technician is required.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in healthcare, preferably in a clinical setting.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to educational and research meetings and training sessions.
  • Valid State Driver's License for travel to clinics.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and mix chemotherapy drugs under licensed supervision and ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Order, stock, and track medications and supplies; maintain par-level management.
  • Maintain required records for programs and comply with federal/state laws and OSHA standards.
  • Train new staff on chemotherapy preparation and Nucleus workflows; collaborate with clinicians and vendors.

Job description

Location:Georgia Oncology and Hematology ConsultantsHiring Range:$18.00 - $28.08Position Summary:Maintains the ordering and stocking of medications and supplies as needed in the clinic. Under supervision of appropriate licensed healthcare professional as defined by State regulations, prepares and mixes medications. Coordinates with drug sales representatives, and pharmaceutical companies to obtain samples, teaching aids, and compassionate drugs. Acts as liaison between Physicians, Nursing, Pharmacy Supervisor and Purchasing in obtaining special order medications.Key Performance Areas:1. Medication Preparation & DispensingPrepare and mix chemotherapy drugs and solutions under appropriate licensed supervision and in compliance with state regulations.Maintain proficiency with the Nucleus medication dispensing system and ensure accurate medication dispensing and par-level management.Review next-day orders with nursing staff to anticipate special medication needs.2. Inventory, Supply, and Equipment ManagementOrder, stock, and track medical supplies and medications, ensuring appropriate inventory levels and minimal waste.Perform daily and annual maintenance of chemotherapy hoods and manage ambulatory pump documentation.Handle biohazardous waste disposal safely and compliantly, including recordkeeping and coordination with Accounting.3. Regulatory Compliance & DocumentationMaintain required records for compassionate drug programs, clinical trials, biohazard waste, and related pharmacy processes.Ensure compliance with all federal/state laws, patient privacy regulations, OSHA standards, and organizational policies.4. Training & CollaborationAssist in training new pharmacy technicians and nursing staff on chemotherapy preparation and Nucleus system workflows.Collaborate with nurses, physicians, supervisors, and pharmaceutical representatives as needed to support patient care and operational needs.5. Operational Flexibility & Professional ResponsibilitiesSupport operations across multiple locations as needed and work overtime when required.Participate in mandatory meetings, including annual Safety/OSHA training.Position Qualifications:EducationFollowing applicable state regulations, PTCB Certification or Registered as Pharmacy Technician is required.Minimum Relevant ExperienceMinimum of three years’ experience in the healthcare field, preferably in a clinical setting as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred.Must be willing to travel occasionally to educational and research meetings as well as training sessions.Certifications/LicensesValid State Drivers License for travel to clinics is required.#AONC#LI-ONSITE
