Job summary

University of Maryland Capital Region Health in Laurel, MD is seeking compassionate Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) to join our team in a PRN role.

In this position you will work closely with licensed nurses to provide direct patient care, record vital signs, assist with activities of daily living, and help ensure patient safety and comfort.

This PRN role is scheduled to work less than 1,000 hours per year, with pay ranging from $17.68 to $24.76 per hour and potential shift differentials.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification required
• BLS certification required
• Previous patient care or hospital experience preferred
• Must be able to safely assist with lifting, transferring, and moving patients

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Obtain and document vital signs and report changes in patient condition
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility needs
• Support patient safety initiatives, including fall prevention and infection control
• Monitor and report physical or emotional changes in patients
• Assist with patient transfers and safely operate patient care equipment
• Maintain clean, organized patient care areas and stock supplies as needed
• Respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, families, and team members
