As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you’ll work closely with nurses to provide hands-on care and support to patients. Some of your responsibilities will include:

The Observation Unit at Midtown Campus is an 18-bed unit with negative air flow and remote tele capabilities where patients can be observed, treated, and diagnosed. Based on test results, a patient will either be admitted or discharged within a goal of an 8-24-hour window. Clinical staff will have the opportunity to care for a wide range of diagnoses while demonstrating critical thinking and time management skills in a fast-paced environment. Observation rounds are held daily with case management, social work, physician, and NP to coordinate care for the patient. As part of the Observation Unit, staff will work closely with patients and families in a rewarding environment by coordinating results and communicating with the Deaconess Care Team.
